FROM SCIENCE TO GREEN BUSINESS…

This slogan provided three days in full of fascinating "green" stories of practitioners, innovative business ideas and incredible insights! From November 30 to December 2, Yana Us participated in the Winter School on Renewable Energy and Materials Recycling. The participants from Riga Technical University (Latvia), Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia) and Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania) came together to deliver on generating new solutions to ensure a green future and gain skills in commercializing their ideas. This event allowed enriching the participants' knowledge, as well as also to expand the network with entrepreneurs contacts working in the Energy and Resources sector of the European Union.

 

DEPARTMENT OF MARKETING ABOUT ACADEMIC integrity IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

Associate Professor of the Department of Marketing Artem Artyukhov, as a member of the national agency for quality assurance in higher education and the head of the group for promoting academic integrity of SumDU, on December 1, took part in the online meeting "How to ensure academic integrity in higher education" within the framework of the School of Quality of the National Agency for Quality Assurance higher education. At the meeting, general principles, tools and real cases of introducing academic integrity in higher education institutions were considered.
Artem Artyukhov made a presentation "The University System for Ensuring Academic Integrity from the View of the ZVO and the National Agency", which included the following blocks:
1. General description of the university's academic integrity system.
2. Normative base or / and / versus effective mechanisms.
3. Casey accreditation reviews.

INTERESTING. FUN. INFORMATIVE.

This is the meeting motto of students majoring in "Marketing" on November 26, 2020 with Olexandra Shemchuk, co-founder of the SoMo project. Olexandra spoke about the peculiarities of consumer behavior on the Internet, the peculiarities of promotion on social networks, gave examples of successful and unsuccessful online promotion programs; shared with students practical experience in the field of monitoring and analysis of media and social networks, in particular, what goals can be used to implement monitoring, which target audiences are directed, provided an analysis of existing media monitoring services. In addition, Olexandra shared the main tools, the use of which allows you to not get lost in the media space, especially in a crisis.

The lecture was filled with interesting examples, students gladly joined the discussion and enthusiastically took part in testing on the possibility of recognizing fake news.

LECTURE-DISCUSSION UNDER THE JEAN MONNET MODULE "EU CARBON-FREE ECONOMY: BEST PRACTICES FOR UKRAINE"

Within the European Commission's framework funded Jean Monnet Module "EU Carbon-free economy: best practices for Ukraine" (Jean Monnet Module «EU Carbon-free economy: best practices for Ukraine» 620232-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE), Yana Us held an introductory lecture on "Green innovation towards a Carbon-free economy" for PhD students of Riga Technical University.

The PhD students were acquainted with the main goals and principles of the EU Carbon-free economy. In particular, they analyzed the impact of green technologies on developing the green economy at the national level. During the lecture, the PhD students expressed their opinion on how the EU Green Deal's implementation would influence the innovative development in Latvia and Ukraine. Besides, particular interest was the discussion on how the EU and Ukraine could synchronize their innovation policies to achieve a Carbon-free economy.

LECTURES UNDER THE JEAN MONNET MODULE “EU POLICY FOR SMES: PERSPECTIVES AND CHALLENGES FOR UKRAINE: PERSPECTIVES AND CHALLENGES FOR UKRAINE”

Tetyana Pimonenko and Oleksii Lyulyov under the Jean Monnet Module "EU policy for SMEs: perspectives and challenges for Ukraine" (619999-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE) has started the lectures "EU policy for small and medium enterprises" for students from Sumy State University.

The students discussed the features of EU policy for SMEs and the EU's experience to develop the business-friendly climate. The fruitful discussion was due to the debate on the SMEs' role in economic growth. The students learned Ukrainian positions in the world rating for doing business and how its correlate with the business climate.

No sooner had the electoral procession finished in Ukraine than marketers were already discussing its results: what levers were most effective in this electoral race. So, Department of Marketing lecturers joined this event and received a lot of insights on the latest marketing tools, internet promotion and SMM used by the leading marketing agencies in Kiev during the event "Open Talk" SMM Tomorrow ".

The knowledge gained has already spread among the students of the department. Therefore, now this specific type of marketing is also in the department's basket of interests!

 

 

DIGITAL WORLD INSIGHTS: LEARNING MARKETING TRENDS 2021

Internet marketing is interesting for all areas of business. The Department of Marketing constantly finds time to monitor practical marketing achievements and find mechanisms that are effective.

The restless, even on the weekends, pump their knowledge. Tetyana Pimonenko took part in the UKRAINIAN DIGITAL FORUM 2020, which brought together more than 1,500 listeners. A large number of speakers, practical cases, discussion questions, own achievements and much more allowed to learn a lot of insights of the digital world.

 

JEAN MONNET MODULE “EU CARBON-FREE ECONOMY: BEST PRACTICES FOR UKRAINE”: START

Early November, the Jean Monnet “EU Carbon-free economy: best practices for Ukraine” has started. The project is financed by the EU commission (620232-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE). The Module leader is Olena Chygryn. The goal of the Module is understanding and disseminating the EU movements in developing the Carbon-free economy in order to mitigate the consequences of climate change while boosting energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint. The Module consists of the activities as follows as:

  • The EU Cohesion policy for Carbon-free economy;
  • The introduction into the Carbon-free economy;
  • Green energy towards the Carbon-free economy: the best EU practices;
  • The EU Green Fiscal policy for Carbon-free economy: the best practices for Ukraine.

OLEKSIY LYULYOV - SPECIAL EDITOR in JOURNALS INDEXED BY SCOPUS AND WOS DATABASES

The Department of Marketing pays a lot of attention not only to scientific research, but also to their popularization, gaining practical experience in various scientific organizational vectors. This week, the head of the marketing department Oleksiy Lyulyov once again confirmed his level of a practical scientist, whose work is of interest not only in Ukraine but also abroad. In particular, he now works as an editor of two journals indexed by the Scopus and Wos databases:

  • Special Issue "Energy Management: Economic, Social, and Ecological Aspects";
  • Special Issue "Trends in Information Technology"

FRIDAY OF THE 13TH? LATEST IDEAS FOR BUILDING PRACTICAL SKILLS

Full-time or part-time, bachelor's or master's degree, freshmen or graduates - there are no such distinctions for the marketing department. Having received from students feedback of the last innovation we understood, that communication with practices on interests was liked the most and Alexey Lyulyov decided to introduce such format of communication. So, on November 13, marketers were able to pump to the fullest and founnd for themselves what is really interesting to them.

15 (no, we are not exaggerating), exactly fifteen speakers were able to work with our students and in a limited time revealed the current mechanisms, models of work, as well as features of software that can now be used to improve the quality of marketing research.

What new did you decide to try? This time, the DOM team offered to involve part-time students in communication with interns. They are at work, living in remote cities, they have no time and there are still many excuses…

INSERENT ON THE INTERNATIONAL PROJECT SPEAK UP!

Recently there was a competition for the Speak UP program! Anna Volk, the first year student speciality "Marketing" decided to take part in this international project and won it. 

This is a 21-day German-Ukrainian online storytelling exchange. The project is designed for people aged 16-35 from Ukraine and Germany. Every day for an hour you will study with leading experts in this field in English.

The project will run from November 26 to December 16. Each participant is given access to the platform. Also, at the end, everyone will receive a certificate that they can add to their portfolio.

 

MECHANISMS FOR PROMOTION OF EDUCATIONAL SERVICES

From November 2 to 6, the Department of Marketing together with the Center for Human Resources Development implemented a training program for teachers and employees of SumDU, who directly or indirectly promote educational services at their departments, faculties, institutes or in general at the University.

Topics from Maria Minchenko "Promotions of educational services, or why we a learning copywriting" interested almost all departments, because the desire to use marketing tools in career guidance, to find new market segments that can be reached with promotional offers are of interest to everyone without exception.

We are very pleased to see that the work of the DOM team brings results and we can quickly help our colleagues to implement ideas and introduce new mechanisms to attract the attention of potential consumers of educational services.

IT WAS ACQUAINTED WITH THE BEST UKRAINIAN EXPERIENCE!

Who better to talk about marketing in medical centers?  You are right, a person who has been working successfully in the health industry for more than 16 years.
On November 19, 2020, students studying in Public Health joined the webinar from Natalia Tulinova, CEO of Zdorovi agency, EX-CEO Isida (it is in the TOP-5 private medical network of Ukraine by income)! Natalia told what patients want from a medical center, the features of marketing in the medical business, what works best in a crisis, how to effectively build communication with different generations of patients, what should be developed in 2021, and many other interests.
Such cooperation with practicing marketers during the course "Marketing and communication of medical and social facilities" (teacher Khomenko Lilia) helps students better study modern marketing tools in the medical field and understand the trends of the near future.

At the beginning of November, the Jean Monnet "EU policy for SMEs: perspectives and challenges for Ukraine: perspectives and challenges for Ukraine" has started (Holders – Tetyana Pimonenko and Oleksii Lyulyov) which financed by EU commission (619999-EPP-1-2020-1-UA-EPPJMO-MODULE). The module's goals are providing and sharing the knowledge of EU policy (ethics, culture, mechanisms, legislation, and principles, etc.) to develop and support SMEs as a core element of economic development through developed three modules and annual summer training. The module consisted of the activities as follows as:

  • EU policy for small and medium enterprises;
  • Introduction to EU policy for small and medium enterprises;
  • EU Business Values and Ethics;
  • Summer School "How to Start New Business: EU and Ukrainian Experience".
