USEFUL MEETING WITH PRACTICE

On May 6, first- and third-year marketers had the opportunity to talk to Valeria Lazorenko, Marketing Manager of the Sumy Biological Factory. Features of work in specific markets, methods of promotion and mechanisms of interaction with the target audience will allow students to understand the basic principles of the marketer, because as they say - marketing everywhere.

SEARCH FOR "YOUR" EMPLOYER

On April 29, 2021, the restless masters of marketing of the 1st year within the discipline "Non-Commercial Marketing" had the opportunity to take part in a live talk on the mega topical question "How to choose the best company for yourself?". During the live talk, Olena Voitenko (People & Culture Director JTI Ukraine) focused on an important point that candidates often forget about job search - not only does the employer evaluate the candidate, but also the candidate chooses and evaluates the employer. The acquired knowledge will allow students to hone their skills of passing interviews, as well as find the best employer just for themselves.

WINNING DEBUT

Kateryna Shevchenko, a first-year student of the Department of Marketing, took first place for the first time taking part in the competition of scientific works! Such synergy of units became victorious for the student.

On April 27, 2021, at the second stage of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers on the specialization "Economics and Management in Trade" Katya presented a paper on "Prospective analysis of e-commerce in the post-pandemic period" (supervisor - Lyudmila Sager). The competition was held at Kharkiv State University of Food and Trade. To participate in this year's competition, 75 works were received from representatives of various educational institutions from 15 cities of Ukraine (Kyiv, Dnipro, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhia, Kremenchuk, Lviv, Lutsk, Odesa, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky, etc.).

We are proud of the young scientist and wish him further achievements and victories!

THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE RESTLESS ARE UNLIMITED IN ANY FIELD

At an online meeting with Netcracker representatives on April 27, marketing students had the opportunity to learn about the specifics of working in an IT company and its employment offers. Karina Nechak, Head of Human Resources, dispelled the myth that companies only need IT, specialists, as they also have vacancies for students majoring in economics. The webinar gave marketers the opportunity to talk to the heads of individual Netcracker departments and get insights on how to increase their competitiveness in the labour market.

ON THE WINNING WAVE

Second-year student Anastasia Nazarenko became the winner of the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers in the speciality 075 "Marketing".

As part of the competition, Anastasia received a diploma of III degree among more than 100 works submitted by students of different free educational institutions of Ukraine. On April 22, 2021, at the final scientific-practical conference, Nastya presented work on an interesting and relevant topic "The role of autobiographical memory in the effectiveness of audio effects in sensory marketing."

On April 20, 2021, an online seminar was held within the framework of the project "Be an expert with the restless", to which marketers involved students of Konotop Industrial and Pedagogical Vocational College. Together with Natalia Senunovska, a senior lecturer at the Marketing Department of SSU, they discussed the importance of social evidence in running a business and collecting and properly processing customer feedback.

Scientific virtual class for PhD students!

Relentless together with Riga Technical University started a scientific virtual class for graduate students.

The aim of the project is to create an online platform for communication and collaboration of PhD students from Riga Technical University and Sumy State University.

Researchers from BiEM and the Warsaw School of Economics created an online platform where leading scientists from Poland, Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Lithuania discussed the prospects of using BigData and modern data analysis tools.

The BiEM team (Serhiy Leonov, Tetyana Pimonenko and Serhiy Minenko) presented to the scientific community their own experience of using SAS Enterprise Miner, EViews, STATISTICA, Power BI and Python tools in the educational process.

Within the framework of the V All-Ukrainian Marketing Thesis Competition, Anna Kolesnyk, a graduate of the Department of Marketing at Sumy State University, received a 3rd degree diploma (supervisor - L. Sager).  Anna's thesis  marked by the high level and practical orientation, its marketing content. This year, the event was attended by representatives of more than 30 leading institutions of higher education, and in the nomination "bachelor's theses" more than 50 works were evaluated. Both representatives of the academic community and practitioners were involved in the review.

The technologies development, the struggle for customers and quarantine restrictions take digital marketing to a new level. And to be in trend means to be a successful marketer. Students and teachers of the Department of Marketing are trying to be on the same wavelength with the development of digital marketing technologies. In order not to lag behind, 2nd year students majoring in 075 Marketing within the study of the discipline "Marketing Communications 2" (teacher - Sager L.) joined Digital Spring at Kharkiv National Economic University. Thus, on April 14, 2021, students took part in a webinar on SEO-marketing. The speaker - Alexander Utkin, Senior SEO Promodo - showed illustrative examples, told about the benefits for business and provided advice on mastering the profession.

RESPONSIBLE scientometrics

From April 5 to 9, training and improvement of skills in using practical tools for working with the Web of Science database took place. The Department of Marketing is always interested in the features of using different tools in their work. Responsible scientometrics, EndNote reference manager, InCites analytical tool and much more were discussed during the training. Such training help to learn about upgrades of databases that are just being planned, and allow you to stay always on #CatchTheWap of Changes!
