HEALTHY INITIATIVES OF THE BORDER CITY

On May 21, 2024, the participants of the Proactive week of the Jean Monnet project "Healthy Economy and Policy: European Values for Ukraine" had the opportunity to see a vivid and meaningful presentation by Olha Skrypnyk, Deputy Director of "Sumy Promotion Agency".

Olha told us about what attracts citizens to the regional center of the Sumy region, what unique initiatives were initiated by the central coordinator of marketing activities in the city by "Sumy Promotion Agency", what interesting locations are there in the city, what territorial features form a unique positive image and brand of the border city in the eyes of its residents and guests.

We have just started the active week, and on May 24 and 28, no less exciting meetings with famous speakers of Ukraine and the opportunity to express your opinion and hear the views of other participants of the active week await you.

ANTI-DISCRIMINATION IN ADVERTISING: IMPLEMENTATION IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

Associate Professor of the Department of Marketing Yana KRYVYCH took part in the seminar of marketing and advertising teachers "Implementation of the topic of combating discrimination in advertising in the educational process of educational institutions", which took place on May 17-19, 2024.

The organizers of the event were the Industrial Gender Committee for Advertising in partnership with the Representation of the Foundation named after Friedrich Ebert in Ukraine.

The event was attended by teachers from 15 regions of Ukraine, representatives of the DPSS of Ukraine and lawyers. Together, the experts analyzed current trends in the advertising market and discussed measures to counter discrimination based on gender in wartime, shared best cases and scientific findings.

According to the results of the seminar in 18 leading institutions of Ukraine, the winners will discuss the concept of discrimination in advertising with their peers, learn to identify discriminatory advertising, and understand its consequences for brands and society.

SUMY: FROM THE PAST TO THE PRESENT

Marketing students of the 1st and 2nd years within the disciplines "SMM" (MK-31, teacher Yana KRYVICH) and "Public Relations" (MK-21, teacher Liliya KHOMENKO) visited the excursion of the central part of  Sumy.

Learned a lot of new things:

  1. where did the construction of Sumy begin;
  2. where is the love stone;
  3. where do Sumy's dungeons lead;
  4. where the map of Sumy region is laid out in stone;
  5. how living figures appeared in the city;
  6. why is the sugar monument crying;
  7. how refined sugar was invented;
  8. why are the lanterns on Pokrovsky Square cubical in shape;
  9. how the gazebo became a symbol of the city.

An hour and a half flew by like an instant. We noticed many interesting and unique objects that we pass by every day without paying attention to them. And we also felt for ourselves how an exciting excursion changes the attitude towards our hometown, enterprises, outstanding personalities...

CLIMATE CHANGE ECONOMICS: COURSE COMPLETED

The restless have got a mega-interesting experience from the CERGE-EI Foundation (Czech Republic).

For two months, students study the discipline "Climate Change Economics. in English.

The lecturer of the course is Professor Silvester Van Koten (Netherlands).

The course's main topics were: 

  1. global climate change,
  2. the development of renewable energy,
  3. the experience of the European Union in climate change mitigation,
  4. economic tools for decarbonization,
  5. ways to overcome global negative externalities, etc.

The course included a series of intensive lectures, online quizzes, practical seminars, and individual assignments.

Marketers participated in modern educational practices, gained new knowledge, and gained experience in communication with foreign teachers.

The course was accompanied by the professor of the Department of Marketing, Olena Chygryn from Sumy University.

STUDENTS FOR THE GREEN CAMPUS

On April 26, 2024, as part of the Jean Monet Erasmus+ project of the European Union, "Green Campus Strategies: EU Experience for Ukrainian Universities", the department of marketing held a festival of student initiatives, the purpose of which was to present ideas on how to make the university campus environmentally friendly.

Management, economics, and engineering students joined the restless team.

The participants presented their projects regarding:

  1. implementing green technologies and recycling at the university (Anna Kholod "Implementation of green campus practices in Ukraine and the EU: alternative energy and recycling technologies".
  2. landscape design (Shevchenko Kateryna "Green campuses: modern solutions of landscape design")
  3. organization of student spaces (Tereshchenko Dar'ya, Zavalna Dir'ya, P'yatachenko Yuliya, Lypovy Dmytro, Kychko Darina "Creation of modern academic spaces for the promotion of green campus ideas")
  4. development of green infrastructure (Pavlo Tkach, Serhii Kutas "Ecological trail")

The presented projects aroused the audience's interest, and the festival participants shared their experiences of implementing environmental measures within the framework of the development of a green campus (Ecoweek, Ekotoloka, etc.).

NEW SCIENTIFIC INTERNSHIP AT THE MARKETING DEPARTMENT

Senior lecturer of the marketing department, Ph.D., Anna ROSOKHATA received good news about her participation confirmation in the Visegrad Scholarship Program in spring 2024.

This program offers support for individual short-term trips for scholars, lecturers, and researchers from the Visegrad Group countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, or Slovakia) to other countries of this group, which are not their citizens.

In 2024, citizens of Ukraine were also granted the right to apply as part of a pilot project. Anna Rosokhata became one of the representatives of this pilot project and will begin her scientific internship at the Ignacy Lukasiewicz Rzeszow University of Technology, Poland, on April 22, 2024, which will last until June 16, 2024.

The theme of the scientific internship is "Marketing research of consumer behavior in waste management systems." This project involves researching the impact of advertising and other marketing tools on consumer behavior, particularly their waste management behavior. The research project aims to gather more information about consumer behavior regarding waste management in Poland and Ukraine.

Joint publications with colleagues from the host institution are planned based on the results of this internship. We hope for fruitful results from the internship and move forward towards relentless change.

THE STAFF OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MARKETING WAS REPLENISHED WITH AN ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

On April 24, 2024, the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine "On the approval of the decisions of the attestation board" was issued, according to which Anna ROSOKHATA, Ph.D in Economics, senior lecturer of the Department of Marketing, was awarded the academic title of associate professor.

Currently, this order has been issued, and in the future Anna will be issued a certificate confirming this title.

So, we are waiting for him, and in the meantime, we congratulate Anna Rosokhat and wish her success in further scientific steps and achievements!

 

 

MODERN WAYS OF PRODUCT PROMOTION AND NOT ONLY…

On April 11, 2024 in the framework of the disciplines "STP Marketing" (teacher Maria MINCHENKO, groups Mk-11, Mk-11-2), "Marketing Pricing" (teacher Lilia KHOMENKO, groups Mk-21, Mk-3), "Brand Management » (teacher Olena CHYGRYN, group Mk.m-31/1u) a practically oriented event was held.

 The restless bachelors and masters attended a master class from the marketer of GUALAPAK UKRAINE LLC, Vladyslav Goncharov.

Learned a lot about:
✅ the company's communication system with consumers
✅ promotion of products in the digital environment
✅ the main requirements for marketers in modern enterprises and many more interesting insights...

THE BEGINNING INTERNSHIP AT THE RZESZÓW UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

Anna ROSOKHATA, senior lecturer of the Department of Marketing, Ph.D in Economics,  doctoral student, has started research at the Rzeszów University of Technology in Poland.

This internship will last from April 22 to June 16, 2024. This study was made possible thanks to the Visegrad Fellowship Program, which offers support for individual short-term trips for scientists, teachers, and researchers from the Visegrad Four countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, or Slovakia) to other countries of this group, who are not their citizens. And in 2024, citizens of Ukraine also received the right to submit their applications as a pilot project.

Anna ROSOKHATA became one of the representatives of Ukraine in this pilot project. The topic of the scientific visit is a marketing study of consumer behavior in the waste management system. The research project intends to obtain more information about the behavior of consumers regarding waste management in Poland and Ukraine. We focus on fruitful research results.

SUCCESSFUL DEFENSE OF THE DOCTORAL DISSERTATION

EXCITING VIDEO TOUR OF THE LABORATORY OF NEUROMARKETING AND ADVERTISING

On April 19, 2024, an open lecture was held for PhD students of the Department of Marketing on the topic: "Neuroresearch of consumer behavior."

The online event was conducted by the head of the Department of Marketing of the West Ukrainian National University, Prof. Tetyana BORISOVA, Doctor of Economics.

An exciting video tour of the neuromarketing and advertising laboratory of the West Ukrainian National University was organized for the participants of the lecture.

We also learned a lot of interesting things about:

  1. influence of hormones on decision-making;
  2. equipment for conducting neuromarketing research;
  3. test results of neuromarketing studies;
  4. heat maps for interpretation of test results.

During the meeting, the speaker shared the experience of cooperation in conducting research.

NEW EXPERIENCE IN A MARKETING AGENCY AND COMMUNICATION WITH A BUSINESS REPRESENTATIVE

Communication with an experienced entrepreneur is an interesting and new field to explore.

Restless marketers talked with the representative of the Sumy business, presented the results of their research on the market of security systems and discussed ways of further cooperation between the business representative and the marketing agency.

On 29, March, 2024 within the framework of the disciplines "SMM" (teacher Yana Kryvych) and "Public Relations" (teacher Lilia Khomenko), the director of the company Roman Chupandin spoke about the industry specifics of marketing activities, about the positioning of services in the market, opportunities, ways of promoting services in the marketplaces.
