HOW TO BUILD A STRONG COMPANY BRAND

On March 19, marketing students of the second year of the bachelor's degree in the framework of the disciplines "Public Relations" and "Marketing Communications-2" (teachers Lilia KHOMENKO and Oleksandr IVANOV) attended a master class on the topic "How to build a strong company brand to increase its profitability."

The speaker of the event is Kyrylo KUNITSKY, founder and CEO of the international educational and consulting company "Business-konstruktor", whose clients are tens of thousands of owners of small, medium and large businesses from different countries of the world.

During the master class, Kyrylo shared insights on developing a brand development strategy and multiplying company recognition and loyalty.

The following main issues were considered at the event:

🔹 management of brand recognition and loyalty: media pressure and share of voice;
🔹 key indicators that will help assess the level of development of the company's brand;

UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCES FROM "E-MPOWER: SHAPING DIGITAL CITIZENS"

As a part of the "ERASMUS+" program, 2nd-year students Anna KORZH and Anastasia BUDYONNA took part in the youth exchange "E-mpower: Shaping Digital Citizens" in Arnhem (Netherlands) from February 24 to March 2, 2024. Representatives of 7 countries participated in the project: Ukraine, Turkey, Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, Hungary, Bulgaria, Poland.

The theme of the events was education of a responsible digital society, development of critical thinking and media literacy. During the course of the project, trainings were held every day, at which propaganda, cyberbullying, fakes, and disinformation were discussed. Each of the participants worked in groups with representatives of other countries on a mini-project. After that, the participants made presentations and took part in discussions where they exchanged experiences and expressed their own opinions.

For greater activity, the organizers arranged "energizers" - movements in the form of an interesting game. There was a special atmosphere at the "cultural evenings" dedicated to different countries, where female students had a rich cultural experience. Each of the participants shared their traditions, taught folk dances, songs, and served dishes of national cuisine. Unforgettable moments on the project.

Congratulations to Anna KORZH and Anastasia BUDYONNA with new skills, including: critically evaluating information on the Internet, using online tools responsibly, and knowledge of online safety and ethics.

10 LIFE LESSONS ABOUT MARKETING

Today, our unrestless marketing students of the 1st-3rd years within the disciplines "SMM", "Marketing pricing", "STP-marketing" and "Business Planning" (teachers Yana KRYVYCH, Liliya KHOMENKO, Mariya MINCHENKO, Nataliya LETUNOVSKA) will talk with the director of the sports club PAPA GYM, marketer Daria Stetsenko.

During the meeting, Daria shared her own secrets of success. They also talked a lot about the importance of understanding the product, the client (his needs/desires), conveying values...

And of course, on the PAPA GYM case, we analyzed how it works in practice.

NEW HORIZONS FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH

On March 11, 2024, PostDoc student of the Department of Marketing, PhD, senior lecturer, Anna ROSOKHATA, started a research internship at the University of Liverpool (United Kingdom). The internship will continue 3 weeks, and its main goal is to learn British colleague's experience in marketing in order to comply with the principles of the circular economy.

The topic of the dissertation research of Anna Rosokhata is the following: "Behavioral determinants of energy management in the context of the transition to a circular economy." Within the framework of this topic, a joint study of the marketing component is planned, as well as a study of waste management systems in the circular economy together with colleagues from the University of Liverpool.

Using the capabilities and experience of the host University will provide an opportunity to more thoroughly approach the stated research using modern technologies and solutions.

BUILDING A PERSONAL BRAND: ONLINE INTENSIVE

Restless masters joined the modern experience of creating a personal brand.

Expert Sasha Dmytrieva, CEO of the SUNSHINE production agency, author of the video course "Personal Brand: From A to the First $1,000" offered a three-day intensive on the intricacies of building a personal brand.

The online webinar discussed the following basic questions:

HEALTHY HUMAN BEHAVIOR AND WHEN EMOTIONS RUN HIGH DURING TRAUMA

The lecturers of the department, Alla Bondarenko and Anna Rosokhata, continue not only to convey the values of the European Union to the students of the courses in Ukraine, but also use the methods of practical orientation training for this purpose.

Thus, on February 19, an open lecture-training was held by Svitlana Sinyagovska, candidate of economic sciences, practicing psychologist, coach of the Trauma Care Company (Netherlands) on the topic: "Healthy human behavior and when emotions run high during trauma."

This webinar was held within the framework of two disciplines: "Customer Relations" for 1st-year marketing masters and for 3rd-year bachelors within the "Industrial Enterprise Marketing" discipline.

During the training, the participants learned the psychological basis of the behavior of people and consumers during stressful events. As part of the event, the material was interestingly presented, the types of traumatic behavior of people, the reactions that occur in the psyche and body, as well as the peculiarities of the behavior of Ukrainians after the traumatic events in the country in recent years were thoroughly revealed. The speaker presented several interesting case situations, where the audience identified the expected and unexpected reactions and behavior of people.

In general, the event was aimed to a greater extent at revealing the problems of the formation of a healthy society and each individual. We do not stop there and continue to reveal the important values of the EU for Ukraine and their aspects.

CLIMATE CHANGE ECONOMICS: EXPERIENCE FROM THE LEADING SCIENTISTS

The restless joined a new international project from the CERGE-EI Foundation (Prague, Czech Republic), within which students began to study the discipline "Climate Change Economics" in English. The course is accompanied by the professor of the Department of Marketing, Olena CHYGRYN, from Sumy University.

Lectures by Dr. Sylvester van Koten started on March 5, devoted to climate change research, global trends in environmental pollution, and tools for decarbonizing the economy.

For the restless, this is a new educational experience of involvement in the study of the discipline from leading foreign teachers.

MODERN TEACHING PRACTICES: EXPERIENCE FROM CERGE-EI FOUNDATION

Olena CHYGRYN joined the project CERGE-EI Foundation's Distance Learning Program (Prague, Czech Republic), the purpose of which is to promote the development of local potential.

As part of the program, teachers from SRI BiEM in the role of local instructors will accompany training courses for our students from foreign teachers. The implementation of the project includes pedagogical training from experienced instructors of the CERGE-EI Foundation on the best educational practices in the field of education.

During four days, a series of intensive classes was held, which included presentation blocks, question-and-answer sessions, presentation of one's own work, and review of educational materials of colleagues.

Training participants received valuable experience, professional advice and comments from foreign colleagues. 

We are waiting for the implementation of the project...

STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN PRACTICE-ORIENTED TRAINING.

Marketing students were involved in one more event as part of practice-oriented training. So, on February 13, students of groups MK.m-31/1u, and MK.m-31/2i (1st course of masters) participated in the webinar on the topic: "Key aspects of communications for novice project managers." The webinar was conducted by Andriy Martyniuk, Program Manager at DXC Technology, ex-Luxoft, Ciklum. The senior lecturer, Ph.D. Anna ROSOKHATA in the framework of the discipline "Relationships with clients" proposed students participate in this event. 

The speaker revealed the following basic questions:

  1. How can a beginner effectively communicate with the team?
  2. How to identify problematic situations before they turn into a conflict?
  3. But what are the means of communication in the manager's work?
  4. An expert in the field of project management shared his own experience and brought our students one step closer to the realities of today's business in Ukraine.

HEALTHY EATING BEHAVIOR STRATEGIES

On March 1, 2024, Nataliia LETUNOVSKA joined the online meeting organized by the Food Decisions Research Laboratory, School of Hospitality Management, Penn State University (Pennsylvania, USA).

The purpose of them is cooperation and exchange of views between researchers from different countries on issues the study of consumer eating behavior and the formation of a policy of promoting practical consumer choice, understanding the main aspects that influence this choice and developing appropriate strategies for the promotion of healthy eating behavior among different categories of the population.

During the meeting, the laboratory participants presented their multi-directional developments, which related to the results of empirical research in the field of biochemistry of products of daily consumption and marketing research of the emotional component of the work of hospitality industry personnel.

MARKETING STUDENTS DISCOVERED THE SECRETS OF MEDIA MARKETING

On February 7, within the framework of the discipline "Information systems in marketing" (teacher Yevgenia ZYABINA), first-year students (MK-31 group) of the specialty 075 "Marketing" listened to a lecture by the intern - director of the distribution department of the PO "CUKR." Daria Prykhodchenko.

The director of the distribution department of the PO "CUKR." shared her professional experience and key aspects of marketing and media interaction. Students received valuable practical advice that will not only expand their knowledge, but also help them in their future careers.

The lecture was not only a useful stage of university life, but also an important step for students in understanding and applying marketing in the media environment.

PROMOTING ON THE WEST AS NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR MARKETERS

On February 20, during the lesson of  "Public Relations" (teacher Lilia KHOMENKO), 2nd year students joined the online conference "Promotion on the West". It was organized by SendPulse, a single platform for marketing and sales.

One of the speakers of the event - Mykhailo Dubchak, co-founder of the digital agency ADS Wind & adsquiz.io service, spoke about the differences in the work of a marketer with Ukrainian and Western clients.

The speaker explained why an effective Ukrainian case, translated into English and launched on the Western market, will not work. Mykhailo Dubchak shared his experience of how to act as a Ukrainian marketer in order to succeed in the foreign market, what to pay attention to and what to consider in your work.

The event made it possible to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the "West" and see new opportunities for Ukrainian marketers.

SECRETS OF AN EFFECTIVE SALES FUNNEL: LEARN FROM THE PROFESSIONALS

Students of the 3rd year of the "Marketing" specialty are actively developing their skills in the field of practical marketing. Today, as part of the STP-marketing discipline (teacher Maria MINCHENKO), our marketers had a unique opportunity to dive into the world of effective sales funnels at a webinar organized by Dmitry Tyanulin, head of the NetHunt CRM region.

During the event, students received valuable insights and practical advice from an experienced specialist. Dmytro Tyanulin shared his own successful cases in building sales funnels and highlighted the main strategies for increasing conversion.

The event contributed to the students' deeper understanding of the topic and the formation of practical skills that will be useful to them in their future professional life.
