HALF A YEAR AT THE UNIVERSITY OF LIVERPOOL: SECOND-YEAR STUDENT'S IMPRESSIONS

"This is how a new stage of my life began - an exchange program for six months in Britain, in the city of Liverpool. This summer I already tried myself as a student at the University of Liverpool, so I applied for the exchange program without hesitation.

The first week was familiarization, which helped me find like-minded people, and new friends. The English-speaking environment draws me in and naturally improves my communication and language skills. I have a new small company that has already become a family for me, because we live in the same house and spend every day together. I am very grateful to them for their frankness and wonderful moments.

The beginning of my studies turned out to be very interesting, because the teachers are professional and provide a lot of information for reflection, introduce group projects and for further study of materials. Therefore, I hope that my further stay here will bring me many bright emotions and unforgettable moments" - second-year undergraduate student Amelia BONDARENKO shares her impressions of the internship.

ANNUAL REPORT OF MARKETING PHD STUDENTS

On October 7, 2024, the report of graduate students of the "Marketing" specialty of the second year of study was passed.Winners demonstrated their scientific achievements.

Reports were presented by graduate students:

  1. Serhiy PIMONENKO (dissertation topic "Formation of marketing digital strategy of IT enterprises", scientific director - Doctor of Economics, Prof. O.V. Lyulov)
  2. Dmytro DAVIDENKO (dissertation topic "Green marketing in the energy sector: the role of environmental awareness in advertising campaigns", supervisor - Doctor of Economics, Prof. O. Yu. Chygrin)
  3. Andrii ZDOYMA (dissertation topic "Formation of a marketing strategy for the promotion of small and medium-sized businesses in social networks", supervisor - Doctor of Economics, Prof. T.V. Pimonenko)
  4. Daryna GERASYMENKO (dissertation topic "Conceptual principles of using the neuromarketing toolkit in the formation of the company's communication policy", scientific supervisor - Doctor of Economics, associate professor M.G. Michenko)

All participants presented their successes and achievements in:

  1. publication activity, in particular report abstracts, articles in professional journals and publications in publications indexed by the Scopus / Web of Science databases;
  2. internships at foreign universities;
  3. active promotion in work on the dissertation.

IMPRESSIONS OF PARTICIPATION IN SUMMER SCHOOL IN POLAND

"From September 16 to 21, 2024, I took part in my fifth project - a summer school held at the Wroclaw Polytechnic (Wroclaw, Poland). And once again, I can only describe my experience with enthusiasm.
The theme of the summer school "Education for Green Transition" turned out to be closely related to my specialty "Marketing". In addition to studying topics that highlighted various aspects of the economy and ecology, we were explained the relevance and importance of using this knowledge in marketing activities. It is very important that these were not dry lectures, but the development of practical skills, which is interesting and useful.
In particular, my favorite was the workshop "Many eyes, one city", in which we were taught in detail how and for what Eye Tracking is used, which, by the way, is in our marketing laboratory at Sumy State University. But at this workshop, we were shown an improved version of Eye Tracking, which I had not even thought about. The nice part was that we got to experience these improvements for ourselves.

SMM BUSINESS IDEAS THAT WORK TODAY

On September 17, masters of the department of marketing within the discipline "Content marketing" (teacher Maria MINCHENKO) and students of third course ("Merchandising", teacher Yana KRYVYCH) took part in the online conference "SMM for business: ideas that work today".

The event brought together leading SMM experts who shared practical advice and current content marketing technologies and trends for business promotion in social networks.

Students participated in the discussion of issues related to:

  1. effective brand management in the digital environment;
  2. promotion in the B2B segment, in particular focusing on influencers and situational content;
  3. features of creating content in TikTok as an effective tool for increasing income.

The most interesting thing was that our students joined a master class on creating effective content that helps achieve business goals.

Conference participants had the opportunity to discuss current challenges in the field of SMM, exchange ideas and gain valuable insights for the development of their own projects with the help of content marketing.

The conference was an important step for masters in acquiring new knowledge and skills that will help them effectively use social networks for business.

A STUDENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MARKETING WAS AWARDED A SCHOLARSHIP BY THE HEAD OF THE SUMY REGIONAL STATE ADMINISTRATION

Congratulations to Anna Kholod on receiving the named scholarship of the head of the Sumy regional state administration!

Anna is studying in the 3rd year of the specialty 075 "Marketing". Takes an active part in the life of the university, engages in scientific and volunteer activities, together with the dance team "Jam" takes the first places in international competitions.

Thanks to her hard work and diligence, she received a scholarship named after the head of the Sumy regional state administration. She is appointed every year for remarkable success in studies, scientific activity and public work.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE "DIGITIZATION AND SUSTAINABILITY FOR DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT: ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS"

The Department of Marketing together with the London Academy of Science and Business (Great Britain) became co-organizers of the IV International Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference "Digitalization and Sustainability for Development Management: Economic, Social and Environmental Aspects", which took place on September 6-7, 2024.

Among the speakers were representatives from Ukraine, France, Poland, India and Ghana.

The topics of the reports were devoted to digitalization and sustainability; development management; forecasting and foresight; artificial intelligence; cognitive technologies; energy management; education systems; digital economy; innovation management; development of green energy; smart networks; digital marketing, healthy food marketing .

The collection of abstracts of the conference has been submitted to the Scopus and Web of Science databases for their further indexing.

FIRST EXPERIENCE OF ERASMUS YOUTHS EXCHANGE

"They say that first times are remembered forever, and I completely agree with that. My first project was in Slovenia. It would seem that it is an inconspicuous country, a member of the European Union, but what beauty surrounds it... While riding the bus to the venue, we did not have time to film and photograph what we saw through the window: mountains, meadows and unearthly landscapes everywhere...

The team was hosted by the no less picturesque camping "Menina". We even had the opportunity to meet its owner, who hospitably treated us to grilled corn. Like most Slovenians, he speaks English fluently. This was a nice bonus for us.

The youth exchange was devoted to the topic of environmental protection. For its comprehensive study, the organizers offered many informal methods of education. Participants of 6 teams from 7 countries of the world were present at the exchange: Ukraine, Sakartvello, Slovenia, Egypt, Malta, Philippines, Jordan. We performed various tasks that developed our creativity and critical thinking.

The most memorable for me was the development of business ideas for Jordan's cultural heritage research sites. The Jordanian team talked about the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of their country, and our task was to offer environmentally friendly business ideas so that people can explore Jordan without harming the environment. The Ukrainian team proposed to create an eco-camping around the thermal spring. Our Jordanian friends noted that there is only one hotel around, whose visitors were not sufficiently informed about the importance of preserving the monument. And eco-camping allows you to get not only a place to live, but also an increase in the level of awareness.

I am very grateful to the organizers and participants of the program. This first youth exchange for me turned out to be not only informative, but also fun.

SCIENTISTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MARKETING AT THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE IN BULGARIA

During August 18-21, 2024, the International Conference "Economy & Business 2024" was held in Burgas (Bulgaria) and met scientists from 19 countries, including representatives of the marketing department of Sumy State University.

Associate professor of the department Artem ARTYUKHOV gave a report "University as a unit of the innovation cluster "education-science-business": marketing issues", and the associate professor of the department Lyudmila SAHER presented the report "A comprehensive assessment of inclusive growth: a cross-country analysis using an integral indicator".

As a result of the conference, new scientific contacts were made, and negotiations were held regarding further joint research with foreign scientists participating in the conference.

MEETING WITH MARKETING STUDENTS IN A FRIENDLY, RELAXED ATMOSPHERE

On September 13, 2024, a meeting of #restless marketers of Sumy State University took place.

The event was attended by marketing students of the first, second, fourth year of the bachelor's degree, the first year of the master's degree and teachers of the Department of Marketing (#DOM).

In a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, watching the film "Duel of Brothers. History of Adidas and Puma", students were congratulated on the beginning of the academic year, shared their impressions of the first weeks of study and plans for the implementation of new exciting ideas.

It was interesting to learn from first-year students about the informed choice when entering the "Marketing" specialty and expectations from the department and the university.

By the way, the co-owner of the "TRILOGIA lounge bar" in which the meeting took place is Marina STESHENKO, a fourth-year student of the "Marketing" bachelor's degree, who received feedback and many ideas for the further promotion of her own company on the Sumy market.

PARTICIPATION IN A SUMMER SCHOOL IN MACHINE LEARNING AND DATA SCIENCE

At the beginning of August, Associate Professor of the Department of Marketing Nataliia LETUNOVSKA took part in the Lviv Data Science Summer School at the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the Ukrainian Catholic University.

The purpose of this school is to provide opportunities for Ukrainian researchers to communicate with experts in the fields of Machine Learning, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence in particular.

Young people from different regions of Ukraine, specializing in research in different domains of science (both humanitarian and technical), were involved in the school.

As part of the summer school, the participants were introduced to the latest developments and newest methodologies in machine learning. There was an opportunity to listen to interesting lectures by scientists and practitioners from Ukraine, the USA, and Israel. The school program also included work on joint projects in groups and their presentation.

Nataliia plans to apply the innovative experience gained during summer school to her scientific research.

WIN IN ALL-UKRAINIAN DIPLOMA COMPETITION

On June 27, 2024, the results of the All-Ukrainian competition for qualification works in the "Marketing" specialty, based on the Khmelnytskyi Cooperative Trade and Economic Institute, were announced.

This year, a graduate of the "Marketing" specialty, Anastasiia BRECHKA, received a prize and a diploma with a III degree at the bachelor's level of higher education.

The topic of the work is "Upgrading the brand of a healthy sweets cafe using digital marketing tools".
