In June 2026, the final conference was held to conclude the implementation of the COIL course “Business Planning” during the spring semester. The course brought together marketing students from Sumy State University (Ukraine) and engineering students from the University of Petroșani (Romania).
Throughout the semester, under the guidance of the course instructors – Nataliia LETUNOVSKA, Doctor of Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Marketing at Sumy State University, and Herbei Roxana Claudia, PhD, Lecturer at the University of Petroșani – students worked on developing their practical skills in business planning, from generating a business idea to preparing a complete set of documentation required to present all aspects of a project to its target audience. The final assignment of the course involved developing a business plan and a brand book for real-life cases represented by projects by researchers from the New Generation Startup Center at Sumy State University. Students worked in international, interdisciplinary teams to develop business plans for four diverse projects across engineering, chemistry, green energy, and artificial intelligence. The final conference, attended by representatives of the New Generation Startup Center and its coordinator, Andrii PIVEN, became a vibrant culmination of the course and demonstrated the high level of participants’ preparation. During the event, students presented the results of their work, proposed ideas for promoting their projects in the market, outlined the organisational aspects of their successful implementation, and forecasted the financial performance expected from the startups’ commercialisation.
