Career counseling for future university applicants

Throughout July 2026, faculty members of the Department of Marketing at Sumy State University conducted three career guidance sessions for school students.

The events focused on career counselling, future professions, and the skills necessary for successful professional development in today’s labour market. The sessions were led by Yana Kryvych, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Marketing, and Yevheniia Ziabina, PhD in Economics, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Marketing. One meeting took place at Sumy Lyceum No. 33, while two others were held at the Verkhnia Syrovatka Core Educational Institution. During the meetings, participants discussed current trends in the labour market, future professions, and competencies that are becoming increasingly essential for young professionals. Special attention was paid to the development of soft skills, digital skills, creative thinking, communication, and the ability to adapt to rapid changes in the professional environment. The students actively participated in the discussion, asking questions about choosing a future career, study opportunities at the university, and prospects for building a successful career track. Holding such career guidance events helps youth better understand the modern world of professions, make conscious choices about their future careers, and unlock new opportunities for personal and professional development. The Department of Marketing expresses its gratitude to the Department of Pre-University Education at SumDU, as well as to the administration, educators, and students of Sumy Lyceum No. 33 and the Verkhnia Syrovatka Core Educational Institution for their activity, interest, and fruitful cooperation.
