WORLD HEALTH DAY: STUDENTS’ INTRODUCTION TO THE HEALTHY FOOD BUSINESS

As part of World Health Day, first-year students, together with their Consumer Behavior course instructor, Nataliia LETUNOVSKA, visited a specialized health food store from the national “Eko-Lavka” chain in Sumy. It is encouraging that the store cooperates with many local producers, particularly offering healthy products from enterprises in the Sumy region.

The store owner, Tetiana Yemelianova, shared the idea of opening such a shop in the city, the specific characteristics of the store’s customers, and the merchandising principles used by the healthy food chain. It is especially notable that the store’s promotion strategy actively incorporates Ms. Tetiana’s brand. She finds an approach to each customer in-store and through her presence on social media.

“Eko-Lavka” in Sumy opened less than a year ago during wartime and is a veteran-owned business, which serves as an inspiring example of new beginnings. In addition, Tetiana shared her hobby. She makes beeswax candles, and before the Easter holidays, any visitor can purchase such a gift for their loved ones.

We sincerely thank “Eko-Lavka” for their hospitality and valuable marketing insights in this innovative sector!
