GREEN STANDARDS FOR UKRAINIAN UNIVERSITIES
Kostyantyn Kyrychenko took part in the meeting of representatives of the European Alliance of Universities "Unite!", which unites HEIs from 9 EU countries (Austria, Spain, Italy, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Finland, France and Sweden), as well as seven leading Ukrainian universities and heads of the National Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education of Ukraine. The event occurred within the framework of the "Green Standards for Ukrainian Universities" project, funded by the National Agency for Academic Exchanges (Poland) and coordinated by the Wrocław Polytechnic. A unique feature of this stage of project implementation was the organisation of the summer school "Green Technologies for Ukrainian Students" with the involvement of students from Ukrainian partner universities. Thanks to this initiative, eight students of Sumy State University (NNI BiEM and Faculty of TeSET) studied green business models for a week. They gained skills in creating and managing green projects to achieve sustainable development goals.
Following the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030, green transformations should become an integral part of the quality higher education system and the formation of green campuses. Sumy State University will soon pilot applying green standards developed with European partners in science, educational activities and campus management.
