The Kyiv office of the Institute of International Education (IIE) accepts applications for the next round of Fulbright scholarships for internships and research in the 2026–2027 academic year.
We encourage all those engaged in research work to consider the opportunities offered by the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Programme.
The deadline for applications is 15 October 2025.
The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Programme enables research at US universities, research centr s, libraries, museums, archives, etc., for three to nine months.
Eligibility requirements.
The following individuals are eligible to apply:
- Faculty and researchers from academic societies, educational and research institutions of the highest level (universities, institutes and academies) who, at the time of application, hold a PhD, Doctor of Philosophy/Doctor of Arts or Doctor of Science degree;
- Researchers without an academic degree but with a complete higher education (specialist, master’s degree), with at least ten years of experience in scientific research and scientific authority in the relevant field of knowledge, with existing publications (articles, monographs or chapters in monographs) in domestic and/or foreign (international) scientific professional publications;
cultural and artistic figures, specialists in librarianship and museum studies, journalists and public figures — with a complete higher education (specialist, master’s degree), at least ten years of experience in scientific research, significant professional achievements, scientific work in the chosen field of research (articles, monographs or chapters in monographs) in domestic and/or foreign (international) professional scientific publications.
Fields of specialisation: humanities, social sciences, exact sciences, technical sciences and natural sciences.
General requirements for candidates:
- Ukrainian citizenship and residence in Ukraine at the time of the competition;
- English language proficiency sufficient for professional communication in an English-speaking scientific environment;
- Return to Ukraine for two years after the end of the grant period in accordance with the requirements of the J-1 visa, which is obtained by participants in exchange programmes. In 2025, the Kyiv office of the Institute of International Education (IIE), which oversees the Fulbright Programme, will accept applications from candidates in Ukraine and those who were forced to leave the country after 24 February 2022 due to the war.
Grant conditions:
- monthly stipend;
- medical insurance;
- round-trip ticket.
