RESEARCH INTEGRITY FOR FOREIGN GRADUATE STUDENTS

In March, 2021 foreign graduate students of the Institute of BiEM became participants in a series of interactive classes within the course "Research Integrity". The course was prepared by the joint efforts of teachers of the departments of marketing - Artem Artyukhov and applied mathematics and modelling of complex systems - Yuri Volk in the framework of the Academic Integrity Promotion Group.

The course aims to acquaint the graduate student with the basic virtues of research integrity and to form the basis for the acquisition of basic competencies that prevent the manifestations of research integrity.

The practical orientation of classes with the use of information and communication technologies helps the graduate student to carry out scientific work at a high level of academic and scientific integrity.

Narrative classes were held in English in the form of binary lectures with the involvement of graduate students in an active discussion on research integrity. The problems of "predatory" publishing houses and conferences and the types of dishonest practices that a young researcher may face were considered. The practical classes took the form of case studies of cases of violation of research integrity, in particular with the use of the Dilemma Game application from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
