Investigation of behavioral aspects of healthy eating within an internship at the Pennsylvania State University

Member of the team of the Jean Monnet project "Healthy Economy and Policy: European Values for Ukraine", Nataliia Letunovska, as part of the Fulbright Visiting Scholar program, has been in the USA for a month, where she is undergoing an internship at the School of Hospitality Management of the Pennsylvania State University, where she is engaged in researching those factors and hidden factors, which influence people's eating behavior, in particular, stimulate them to follow a healthy diet in their daily food consumption. September was full of events, and in addition to starting work on a research question and forming working hypotheses, Nataliia had time to attend several thematic classroom classes in the disciplines "Readings in Ingestive Behavior" of the Department of Food Sciences and "The Sustainable Fork: Food Systems Decisions for Away-From-Home Eating" from the School of Hospitality Management. The colorful tours of the university's behavioral labs, with lots of state-of-the-art equipment and information about the projects being carried out by scientists, were inspiring. It was a real insight to discover that the USA actively promotes a healthy lifestyle and nutritious food among adults and children.
