CULTURE VS. PROVOCATION: HOW MARKETING ACTIVISM CHANGES ART?

On February 19, 2025, the beginning of the lecture course “Art Attack! A Story of Tomato Soup, Activists, and Art Masterpieces” by foreign researcher Vincenzo Alfano took place. The event brought together bachelor’s and master’s students, applicants for the scientific degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Marketing.

The speaker spoke about modern communication strategies that activists use to draw attention to socially important problems.

Of particular interest was the discussion of famous provocative actions, in particular the use of works of art in protest campaigns.

The participants discussed issues of ethics, the limits of what is permissible, and the impact of such actions on the perception of art by a wide audience.
