Tetyana Pimonenko and Oleksii Lyulyov participated in the international scientific training programme \u201cNeuromarketing Scientific Collaboration Training\u201d, held in August 2026 at EKA University of Applied Sciences in Riga<\/a>, Latvia.
\nThe training was organised within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between Sumy State University and EKA University of Applied Sciences. The programme included scientific meetings, research discussions, exchange of experience, and collaborative activities aimed at strengthening international academic partnerships and developing new research initiatives in neuroscience, cognitive and behavioural research, as well as the application of modern neurophysiological and psychophysiological methods.
\nDuring the training, Tetyana Pimonenko and Oleksii Lyulyov presented the results of their research on communication with stakeholders of green economic growth. The research is being conducted within the framework of the research project \u201cEnsuring Post-War Recovery of Green Economic Growth of the National Economy: Cognitive-Behavioural Technologies and Legal Mechanisms of International Assistance\u201d (State Registration No. 0125U000418).
\nAn important practical component of the programme was a series of specialised training sessions delivered by Maris Cirulis (Marine Clever Point), focusing on modern approaches to designing and conducting experimental research using CleverPoint equipment. The technology enables multimodal recording and analysis of respondents\u2019 neurophysiological and psychophysiological responses, including during their interaction with virtual environments (VR).
\nThis approach is particularly promising for contemporary neuroscience and cognitive-behavioural research, as it enables the simultaneous analysis of different components of human responses to stimuli and facilitates the investigation of relationships between attention, emotional responses, physiological arousal, and behaviour.
\nA separate component of the programme was dedicated to mobile eye tracking, with the participation of representatives from iMotions. Participants explored the key stages of conducting eye-tracking studies \u2013 from experimental design and preparation and data collection to the analysis of visual attention, gaze patterns, fixations, and the identification of Areas of Interest (AOIs).
\nOf particular interest is the possibility of using mobile eye tracking beyond the traditional laboratory environment. This technology enables researchers to study human behaviour in natural settings and analyse patterns of perception and visual attention during interaction with various objects and environments, including products and services, informational materials, educational and workplace environments, tourist attractions, urban environments, and digital and physical interfaces.
\nThe integration of eye tracking, VR, psychophysiological measurements, and behavioural analysis methods creates opportunities for comprehensive multimodal research. These approaches enable a deeper understanding of the mechanisms underlying attention, perception, emotional responses, and decision-making. Their applications extend beyond neuromarketing to neuroeconomics, behavioural economics, cognitive psychology, communication research, education, tourism, digital technologies, and human\u2013environment interaction.
\nThe knowledge and practical experience gained during the training will contribute to the further development of interdisciplinary research at Sumy State University at the intersection of neuroscience, economics, and behavioural sciences, expand the experimental research capabilities of the Department of Marketing, support the integration of modern methods for studying cognitive and behavioural responses into the educational process, and facilitate the development of joint international research projects.
\nUpon successful completion of the programme, Tetyana Pimonenko and Oleksii Lyulyov received certificates confirming their participation in the Neuromarketing Scientific Collaboration Training.
\nThe international training programme marked another important step in strengthening cooperation between Sumy State University and EKA University of Applied Sciences and laid the foundation for expanding international partnerships in neuroscience, cognitive-behavioural and experimental research, neuroeconomics, and neuromarketing, as well as in the application of advanced technologies to investigate perception, attention, emotional responses, and decision-making.<\/p>\n
