On May 21, 2024, the participants of the Proactive week of the Jean Monnet project "Healthy Economy and Policy: European Values for Ukraine" had the opportunity to see a vivid and meaningful presentation by Olha Skrypnyk, Deputy Director of "Sumy Promotion Agency" about what attracts citizens to the regional center of the Sumy region, what unique initiatives were initiated by the central coordinator of marketing activities in the city by "Sumy Promotion Agency", what interesting locations are there in the city, what territorial features form a unique positive image and brand of the border city in the eyes of its residents and guests.

Participation of Anna Rosokhata in the 4th International Scientific Conference "Sustainable Development of the Bioeconomy 2024: Theory and Practice"

We are pleased to announce that Anna Rosokhata, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Senior Lecturer, one of the leading researchers of the Department of Marketing at SumDU and an implementer of our project, participated in the 4th International Scientific Conference "Sustainable Development of the Bioeconomy 2024: Theory and Practice", which was organized by Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania). Anna presented a thesis on the topic "Consumer behavior in the waste management system: bibliometric analysis," which significantly contributed to the discussion on waste management and consumer behavior.
Participation in the conference allowed Anna not only to present the results of her research but also to receive valuable feedback from the international academic community, which helped to increase the visibility and impact of the project. We support the initiative of our Jean Monnet Module implementers for their significant contribution to the project's development and wish them further success in their scientific and educational activities.

Lecture in the world health day: we are continuing the annual tradition Within Jean Module realization

On April 8th, according to the formed tradition specially developed for World Health Day, Associate Professor of the Marketing Department Nataliia Letunovska held a lecture for students of Marketing specialty dedicated to trends in Ukrainian and foreign companies' activity in the market of healthy goods and services. The participants of the lecture discussed questions about medical companies' promotion, marketing strategies of healthy food producers, peculiarities of medical tourism suppliers, and the features of a healthy food restaurant consumer base.  Nataliia focused the students' attention on brand colorists in the market of healthy products and types of businesses engaged in healthy market activity. At the end of the lecture, participants had a short dialog with the lecturer that encompassed a debate on the pros and cons of different types of diversification in product assortment while entering the market of healthy goods. Students shared their insight as to corporate practices of famous companies delineating health. 

 

Review of the scientific articles in rating journals in health thematic

In 2023-2024, a member of the team of Jean Monnet Module "Healthy economy and policy: Values for Ukraine" Doctor of Economics Nataliia Letunovska took an active part in the reviewing process of the papers submitted to the MDPI publishing house. It is the biggest publisher of the journal, and it has open access worldwide. The articles Nataliia reviewed concerned public health and sustainable territory development. In details about the course "Healthy Economy and Policy: European Values for Ukraine"

One of the educational blocks of Jean Monet's module "Healthy Economy and Policy: European Values for Ukraine" (101047530- ERASMUS-JMO-2021-HEI-TCH-RSCH) is the course "Healthy Behavior and Motivation of Consumers: EU and Ukraine", which is taught by lecturers of the Department of Marketing and project implementers Anna Rosokhata, Ludmila Sager, Nataliya Letunovskaya. The aim of teaching this course is to help students achieve modern, constructive, fundamental thinking and a system of special knowledge regarding healthy consumer behavior and motivation, based on the experience of the EU and its approval in Ukraine, aimed at the formation of healthy satisfaction of consumer needs and requests, the formation of a consumption culture oriented for a healthy lifestyle, rational use of resources and careful attitude to the environment.
In general, the course is designed to reveal such aspects of consumer behavior as:
- The basics of environmental marketing and healthy consumer motivation to form and implement EU healthy consumer behavior.
-  The modern EU tools for implementing the marketing complex for territories and regions based on health consumption at different levels.
- The acquisition of EU practice in applying marketing methods and techniques in the Ukrainian market to increase consumer motivation for a healthy lifestyle.

Dissemination of the project at the International Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference "UK-Ukraine Research Twinning Showcase and Networking"

On March 26-17, 2024, the initiator of the project, Jeanne Monet, took part in the International Interdisciplinary Scientific Conference "UK-Ukraine Research Twinning Showcase and Networking", which was held at the University of Liverpool (Great Britain). This conference was aimed at:
- encouraging British partners to interact with Ukrainian scientists more actively,
- dissemination of experience regarding recent research cooperation between Ukraine and Great Britain within the framework of the Twinning program at the individual/institutional/national levels,
- stimulation of new forms of research cooperation within existing research activities
- facilitating the creation of new connections and joint projects between universities, using current progress.
Based on the participation results, Anna Rosohata disseminated information and experience regarding the involvement of Jean Monet project executors in grant research and scientific projects. The Ukrainian scientific diaspora's interaction atmosphere and networking helped establish scientific connections for future cooperation.

Course "Promotion EU cohesion policy in sustainable competitiveness in the regions"

We are glad to remind you about the continuation of educational initiatives under the leadership of Liudmyla Saher, aimed at providing students with knowledge about the specifics of promoting European cohesion policy. The course "Promotion EU cohesion policy in sustainable competitiveness in the regions" is conducted by Liudmyla Saher, Nataliia Letunovskaya, and Anna Rosokhata within the framework of Jean Monet's module "Healthy Economy and Policy: European Values for Ukraine" (101047530- ERASMUS-JMO-2021-HEI- TCH-RSCH).
The course aims to form a system of knowledge and skills in promoting the goals of the EU cohesion policy to develop sustainable competitiveness in the regions. This course covers the following main issues:
1. EU cohesion policy: goals, principles, values.
2. EU cross-border cooperation programs. Cross-border regional policy of the EU within the framework of the external activities of the EU (development of cooperation in the sphere of economic, financial and technological cooperation with third countries)
3. State regional development strategies: from "supporting the weak" to "supporting the strong". The priority of cohesion in the State Strategy of Regional Development. Needs and problems of building cohesion in Ukrainian realities. Implementation of the "cohesive country" priority at the regional level
4. EU cohesion policy: interaction of interested parties. The role and determination of stakeholders' motives in implementing EU cohesion policy.
5. Best practices of the EU regarding the implementation of cohesion policy. Peculiarities and significance of marketing tools for promoting the goals of EU cohesion policy. International media ethics and standards

Dissemination of project results at the international level

On March 1, 2024, a member of the Jean Monnet "Healthy Economy and Policy: European Values for Ukraine" module implementation team, Nataliia LETUNOVSKA, joined the reporting meeting organized as part of the work of the Food Decisions Research Laboratory, School of Hospitality Management, Penn State University (Pennsylvania, USA), the purpose of which is cooperation and exchange of opinions between researchers from different countries (USA, China, India, Singapore, etc.) in the study of consumer eating behavior and the implementation of choice management tools in the development strategy of hospitality enterprises. During the meeting, the laboratory participants presented their multi-directional work related to the results of an empirical study in the field of everyday consumption products and studies of the emotional component of the work of hospitality industry personnel.

 

Start of the course "Healthy regional development: best European practices"

Nataliia Letunovska, Liudmyla Saher, and Anna Rosokhata continue the educational initiative to teach students about the European Union's policy in the healthy regional development field. The course "Healthy Regional Development: Best European Practices" is conducted as part of the Jean Monnet module "Healthy Economy and Policy: European Values for Ukraine" (101047530- ERASMUS-JMO-2021-HEI-TCH-RSCH).
The course is aimed at forming a system of knowledge about the concept of a healthy region, sustainable development, and EU trends in this area, studying the approaches of European countries to management in the health care system and familiarizing with the group of indicators of regional well-being adopted in the EU; formation of skills regarding the strategy of implementation and promotion of regional improvement projects. This course covers the following topics:
1. Basics of healthy regional development: introducing and implementing a healthy approach in regional development. EU legislation in the field of regional development.
2. Main goals and principles of sustainable regional development.
3. Formation of a healthy approach in regional development. Mechanisms of investing in the improvement of territories
4. The European link of the World Health Organization, its goals and objectives. Trends in the field of health improvement in the EU and Ukraine. Reducing inequality in the field of medical and social welfare of the population
5. Subjects of entrepreneurial activity: social corporate responsibility and social enterprises. Responsible production. Formation of the market for healthy products: the experience of the EU countries. The sphere of services in the system of healthy regional development

Studying marketing cases together with the students of the course "Healthy Behavior and Motivation of Consumers: EU and Ukraine"

As part of the course "Healthy Behavior and Motivation of Consumers: EU and Ukraine," project manager Anna Rosohata explores the marketing aspects of building a socially responsible business based on sustainable development with the course participants. Accordingly, together with the students, we discussed and researched case tasks and interesting situations that may arise in the various types of businesses and their marketing management in Ukraine for several mornings. They talked about the experience of solving similar issues in the countries of the European Union and the possibility of adapting this experience to the territory of Ukraine. The students' proposals on selecting and implementing priority services to comply with the sustainable development goals of modern Ukrainian enterprises became interesting.

 

 

Training series on smart waste management in business: European experience and its implementation in Ukraine

Project implementer Anna Rosokhata held a training series on socially responsible waste management with the course participants as part of implementing the Jean Monet project. As part of the events, the issues of garbage accumulation, sorting, and disposal were considered. Students, having familiarized themselves with cases and examples of European companies, offered their ideas on conducting a socially responsible business through the intelligent handling of waste, its collection, sorting, recycling, and even use for energy (incineration). The proposed results consider sustainable development goals and specific examples of enterprises operating in the Sumy region and Ukraine. Students were inspired by the opportunity to be creative and generate ideas for innovations that could benefit society and protect the environment.

An open training lecture on "Healthy human behavior and when emotions run high during trauma" was successfully held

The implementers of the project continue not only to convey the values of the European Union to the students of the courses in Ukraine but also to apply the methods of practical orientation training, so on February 19, an open lecture training was held by candidate of economic sciences, practicing psychologist, coach Trauma Care Company (Netherlands) Svitlana Sinyagovska on the topic: "Healthy human behavior and when emotions run high during an injury." During the training, those present learned the psychological basis of people's behavior during stressful events. Svitlana presented material about the types of traumatic behavior of people and the reactions that occur in the psyche and body. She also revealed the peculiarities of the behavior of Ukrainians in recent years after the traumatic events in the country. The speaker presented several exciting situations where the audience identified people's expected and unexpected reactions and behavior. In general, the event was aimed to a greater extent at revealing the problems of forming a healthy society and each individual. We don't stop there; we will continue to show the essential EU values and their aspects for Ukraine.

Congratulations on successfully defending doctoral dissertation!

On January 10, project executor Natalia Letunovska defended her dissertation on the topic "Methodological basics of healthy development implementation in the national economy" for the degree of Doctor of Economic Sciences at the Specialized Academic Council D55.051.06 of Sumy State University.
The work is devoted to developing the theoretical, methodological, and methodical basis for ensuring the healthy development of the national economy in the state administration system. Among other things, the relevance of this study is confirmed by the development of values enshrined in the Sustainable Development Goals. The research aimed at the development of the concept, mechanisms, and methodology of assessing the healthy development of the national economy, proposed by Natalya, fully corresponds to such values (in particular, SDG 3 - "Ensuring a healthy lifestyle and promoting well-being for everyone at any age"), is relevant and timely.
